EMERGENCY - Uighur Muslims Refugee Appeal
Donation protected
Assalāmu'alaykum my brothers and sisters,
As you may already know, in China today, up to 3 million Uighur Muslims have been detained in a network of concentration camps.
Dispersed across the country, men are being brutally tortured, children are separated from parents, women are being raped and slavery is enforced. Not to mention organs of the Muslims are being harvested.
Outside of these camps, in the Uighur's homeland of East Turkestan, Islam has been completely banned. The Qur’an and fasting are outlawed, Islamic dress is prohibited and masjids have been destroyed.
In response to what is undoubtedly the biggest ethnic cleansing since WW2, the world, including the Muslim Ummah, is silent. May Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala forgive us for this.
For those in the concentration camps, sadly there is very little we can do apart from continuing to voice out this matter and catching the attention of the public and world leaders. However it is up to us to help the fortunate few who have fled the genocide of their homeland, in particular Turkey, to start their lives again and heal from such trauma.
Ummah Welfare Trust (UK charity) have started a new programme to allow this to happen and as a result of this myself along with a few other sisters have come together to raise as much money as we can for this appeal. Us sisters have been wanting to do something to help these Muslims for a very long time and Alhamdullilah this programme is the perfect opportunity to do so. We are lucky to live in a place where we are able to practise our religion however there are millions that are being tortured for what they believe in. Through several fundraisers and donations we strive to help as many refugees as we possibly can with financial, medical and household aid. This includes helping Uighur families get access to healthcare, buy food to eat, have shelter and pay for things like medicines, bills etc.
Brothers and sisters, when Allah asks us on the day of judgement, what did we do to help our ummah? And how did we assist those that are being humiliated? What will we say? How will we answer him?
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘He who is in front of a believer who is humiliated and does not assist him whilst he is able to, Allah will humiliate him ahead of the whole creation on the Day of Judgement.’
Let us unite as a ummah to help those that are desperate, make the most of this opportunity to do good and be great ambassadors of Islam. Let us strive to help our Uighur brothers and sisters today.
‘Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. Whoever alleviates the situation of one in dire straits who cannot repay his debt, Allah will alleviate his lot in both this world and in the Hereafter.‘ - The Messenger of Allah ﷺ
Whether it's a penny, pound or a few pounds every single donation will help in making a difference to the lives of the Uighur Muslims. All donations will be withdrawn by Munibah who is one of the sisters helping with this appeal, and sent to Ummah Welfare Trust In'sha'allah. 100% donation policy!
I ask you all to please keep the ummah in your duaas. May Allah reward you all and grant every single one of you Jannatul Firdwas. Ameen.
