Help Keith Get Back on His Feet

Hi, my name is Liz Jayanath and I am fundraising for my dear friend and "brother from another mother" Keith Barbera. Keith suffered a cardiac arrest on December 14th, 2021, just 1 month shy of his 60th birthday and is into his 3rd month in the ICU. I am starting this fundraiser to help Keith with his mounting medical bills. After years of searching for a full-time teaching position, Keith had just gotten a great job at Hebron Academy in Maine as a math teacher and started August 2021. He was lucky to have gotten great care initially at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston and was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital on December 23, 2021 to receive the advanced cardiac care that his complex case requires. Despite numerous medical complications that have repeatedly cropped up Keith continues to make progress. The road ahead for him will include months of inpatient rehab and a potential heart transplant. While fortunate to be receiving world class medical care it does come with a big price tag and medical bills are mounting for Keith. All of us who know Keith know that he is generous to a fault and is the first one to help out both friends and strangers alike. Now this is our chance to give back to Keith in his time of need!
