Emily
Emily is a 44 year old loving mother of 10 children whose ages range from 19 down to 2. You would have to look a long ways to find kinder, more loving children than these. Emily has devoted the past close to 20 years to them. And the results of her efforts are not hard to find. They live on a farm In Wellington, Maine and work the farm with their own hands. Cows, pigs, chickens, etc. are their food source, but more often than not, become beloved pets. Emily gets up way before dawn and makes the bread, rolls, etc before waking the children to help with chores. She then feeds everyone breakfast, with help from the older children, and begins the daylight hours homeschooling all. She cans, preserves, and does everything else a mom does (music lessons, swimming lessons, church, etc). To say she is an amazing mom and human being falls short of what an incredible person she truly is. She is never without a smile and a hug and ALWAYS thinks of others before herself. The old saying “to know her is to love her” becomes a reality when you know Emily.
On Sunday, August 9, Emily’s car went off the road in Wllington. They life flighted her to Maine Medical Center where she remains in a coma. She has 3 surgeons in charge of her and it appears that she will need a long rehabilitation period if it comes to that. Her injuries are EXTENSIVE.
The children are with relatives and friends, for now, and are heartbroken. Please give what you can afford to GoFundMe for Emily and her family as the medical bills will be enormous. The family of Emily Kowal thank you for your kindness from the bottom of their hearts.
Emily is my niece and I live in Searsport, Maine. Although we have not disclosed it, upon release from the hospital, she will be paralyzed from the waist down. She will need financial help with her children...food, clothing, utilities, gas, heat, not to mention personal help for her. Any money left over will be put towards a handicapped accessible van. I will give Emily the money upon release from the hospital.
