Ukrainian Docu-Series

We are the producers of the feature documentary film A Rising Fury that premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival. It’s a film about love, revolution, and war in Ukraine from 2013- 2022. The film was nominated for best documentary film in 10 international film festivals and won numerous awards including the Supreme Jury Award at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival in 2023. The film is critically acclaimed with Film Threat magazine giving a five-star review and calling A Rising Fury “One of the best films of the year.”

Over the course of filming in Ukraine our team followed many people that were not featured in A Rising Fury. We captured around 500 hours of filmed material and would like to show these incredible stories in a 4-part docu series. We are seeking to raise $24,400 so that we can assemble a team of writers, editors, and postproduction staff that will craft a 1st rough assembly of four episodes.

The series will be presented from the point of view of everyday Ukrainians that experienced the Maidan Revolution and war with Russia.

I want to bring these personal stories to the surface in my new project and feature

5 people over 10 years in Ukraine from 2013 to the present day. One of the episodes that I would like to focus on are some of Ukraine’s most vulnerable, notably women and children. I want to explore Ukraine’s history through the eyes of my own family and relate their stories to the mothers and their children in the city of Bucha. There is tragedy in this series, but we find balance by highlighting uplifting stories as well.

The series will be presented in a cinéma vérité style with historical perspective to provide a deeper understanding of what the Ukrainians are fighting for.
