Ukrainian Family Coming to Michigan
Hello. The war in Ukraine is very personal to my family as my grandparents migrated from Ukraine. It is unreal how the Ukrainians have been devastated by these events. I am determined to do what I can to help those in need. So my family is acting as a sponsor to bring a family from Ukraine to live in Michigan to escape the daily battles surrounding their home near the border of Belarus. Our fundraising efforts will enable the Ukrainian family to move to Warren Michigan. The money raised will go directly to cover the cost of the airplane ride from Ukraine to Michigan and pay for thier apartment in Warren Michigan. The goal is independence and self reliance for the 2 years the family resides in Michigan. The parents will support their family while the children attend school. The parents are looking to escape war terrors and provide a safe, healthy environment to raise their children. In her own words, the Ukrainian mother describes life in the Ukraine......
Our life before the war was simple, like everyone else's.. we didn't appreciate it, because we didn't know what was waiting for us.
My husband worked in construction, I have a teacher's degree, but I had my own online store - it was my favorite job.
The eldest son went to school and studied best in his class, he was an excellent student. He also went to a music school, played the saxophone.
My younger son went to kindergarten- most of all he liked to turn on YouTube on the TV and jump on the sports trampoline. He can do this for half a day without stopping.
Almost every weekend we went to my parents in the village. I still have grandparents, they always waited for us.
Alas, my husband is an orphan.
The man was engaged in sports, did not go to the gym, but when there was time, he worked out just for himself, at home
Sometimes they ran in the mornings
We liked to travel as a family the most, when we were able to buy our home, then a car, the first thing we did was start traveling.
We visited many places in Ukraine, we were abroad several times, we tried to do everything for the children so that they would have a better life, we thought that the war would still end, but... it won't be soon, unfortunately..
I will tell you honestly, I thank the holy God that my family and relatives are alive but unfortunately, many of our acquaintances have already been taken away by this war.
when 4 Russian rockets fell a mile from our house, it was very scary, these rockets took the lives of our friends and then you start to appreciate even more just that you live
