Ukrainian family loss of Father
Donation protected
My name is Michael Thompson, and I have had the good fortune to get to know an exceptional family who relocated to Nashville after their country and community was attacked by the Russians. Arriving legally through the Uniting for Ukraine Humanitarian Parole program, both parents studied hard to learn English and both found jobs. They had just reached financial independence, after leaving everything behind in 2022 and coming to America with one small suitcase each.
During a routine dental procedure, the Father, Ivan, had a medical emergency and passed away unexpectedly. He was just 45. He leaves behind his wife and three school age daughters, and there is no way to afford rent, food and other bills with the mother's income. The family will be relocating to a new apartment in May, has bills for Ivan's funeral expenses and an ongoing shortage for rent and food at at this point. They don't have the safety net a typical American citizen would have from our government.
