Want to make a difference?
I'm raising money to benefit the Ukrainian Festival of the NY Capital District which will be held on Saturday, August 24th at the Ukrainian American Citizen's Club in Cohoes, New York at One Pulaski Street , Cohoes, New York.
The festivities will begin at one PM and end with a Dance or "Zabava" until 10 pm or later!
This is your chance to savor Ukrainian food including "Piroshki (Perogies), Holubtzi (Stuffed Cabbage) Shasliki (Shishkabobs), and Borscht while watching Ukrainian dancers from "Zorepad " perform amazing feats, as well as to listen to stirring music from groups such as "Cheremshyna" from Canada, "Koryinya" from Hunter , NY as well as local talent such as Roman Karpishka and Irena Petryk.
The Zabava or dance band is imported straight from the Carpathian Mountains:" Bratya Zakarpatyia" who will stir up the Cossack blood in anyone's heart for rousing polkas, waltzes and tangos, as well as more contemporary songs.
There will be a "Bouncy Bounce" for children, an ice cream truck , vendors, exhibits and loads of fun ! Please come and support us with a donation and if you cannot come, then any support through this site would be appreciated.
Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA.org), Capital District United Branches is coordinating the event which is being supported by many Ukrainian American organizations of the NY Capital District area, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much.....not only to the 10,000 people of Ukrainian descent in the Capital District but to many friends and associates who appreciate Ukrainian culture, food, music and dancing. Last year's inaugural event attracted over a thousand people!
