Help Ukrainian student with college expenses

Hello, this is Denys Arkhypenko. At just 11 years old, Denys arrived in the United States with plans for a more prosperous future and possibilities to pursue his academic career. Having left Ukraine with hopes for a better life, Denys finds himself experiencing similar emotions once again. On February 24th, 2022, everything suddenly and unexpectedly became much more complicated.

Denys was experiencing success in America from the beginning. His acceptance into the National Honor Society and graduating high school with a 3.5 GPA demonstrate how vital education is for Denys. Initially, because COVID-19 shut down international travel and now because of Russia’s war on Ukraine, Denys has not been able to return home since 2019. Because of the pandemic, embassies shut down as well, tremendously slowing down the visa processing times, forcing Denys to patiently wait for nearly 3 years to finally pursue his dream.

Denys has been aspiring to attend King’s College since high school. Recently received his student visa, bringing him so close to his ultimate goal of achieving higher education in the United States. However, recently Denys encountered unforeseeable obstacles. The extreme situation in Ukraine has depleted his family’s ability to assist in financing his college and living expenses. Denys and his family have decided that the savings his family had put away for his expenses are more important to be used to provide all his family members with food, water, and other basic human needs.

Attending King’s College in the United States would mean the absolute world to Denys and his family and serve as a major morale booster during these difficult times. We are asking family, friends, and the world to help keep Denys and his family’s dream alive. Thank you for all your help!
