Ahaiev Family in Springfield, Illinois

Hi, my name is Jodi Perko, and I have sponsored a Ukrainian family to bring them here to Springfield, Illinois. This process began back in January 2023, and the good news is that in late May the mother, Tunzala Ahaieva, and son, 4-year-old Hasan Ahaiev, arrived (see picture above.) They have a home and are settling into life here in the USA. The not-so-good news is that the father, Arzu Ahaiev, has not yet arrived. During this process Arzu has had a difficult time with his paperwork, and we are still waiting for corrections to be made so that he can join his family here.

Also, during this time we have purchased airline tickets that were not able to be used (and couldn't be refuded) and sent money to the family while they were briefly in Ukraine to help pay for their living expenses and medical care for their son. Due to these unexpected disbursements, we find ourselves in need of assistance to continue to pay rent, utilities, internet and phone service, and similar living expenses for the family. The mother has applied for her work permit, and is seeking employment now, and as soon as Arzu arrives, I know he will be equally eager to find a job.

In order to continue to support the family as they adjust to life in the USA, learn English, and wait for their work permits, we will need to have funds available to maintain our financial supoort of the family.
