Support for Ukrainian mum and baby
Donation protected
This fundraiser is for the Ukrainian sister (Iryna) and nine month old baby nephew (Maxim) of Nataliya and Jason Marrable. Iryna and baby Maxim just made a dangerous and frightening journey across war-ravaged Ukraine to Poland. They are terrified. They have left behind Iryna's husband, Vadik, who has to stay and fight, and they don't know when - or if - they will see him again. Nataliya and Jason, live here in Australia, so Jason will fly to Poland next week to collect Iryna and Maxim and take them to Germany to await their Australian visas. Hopefully, they will arrive safely in about a week and start the next part of their journey to assimilate to a new life in Australia. Australia is granting Ukrainians 12 month visitor visas, and whilst Nataliya and Jason have the means to provide immediate refuge and support to Iryna and Maxim, there will be many immediate - and longer-term - costs that Iryna and Maxim need help with. This war in Ukraine has blindsided the world, but none so much as those living at the epicentre of the horror. They had no time to pack and fled with literally the clothes on their back. They are starting from scratch and will need things such as English lessons for Iryna, medical and psychological support, baby supplies and toys, clothing, and in due course, accommodation, daycare and then schooling for Maxim. I know so many of us are eager to help the Ukrainians through this truly horrific time, and many family friends are offering help specifically to Nataliya for her sister and baby. This fundraising page is in grateful response to these offers. Anything you can spare would be most appreciated to help Iryna and Maxim start again and integrate into Australian society. For those who do not have the means to offer financial help, please share this page with others who may be able to. Thank you sincerely.
