The Unprecedented Music Association

Founded in 2024 by seven young composers based in Los Angeles, the Unprecedented Music Association (UMA)

has the goal to promote new music through live events, primarily with orchestras or large ensembles. To that end, they have also created the Unprecedented Music Orchestra (UMO), dedicated entirely to premiere new orchestral works.

Its aim is to stimulate interest in innovative orchestral music among an eclectic audience, to ensure continuity in the orchestral repertoire, to offer greater visibility to a new generation of composers from diverse backgrounds, and to support and expand the Los Angeles music community.

The primary goal of this fund is to finance UMA's 2024-25 concert season. Any amount large or small helps, and we are so grateful for any contribution to our organization and this vibrant community at large!
