The Georgetown Palace Theatre Envision Fundraiser

My goal is to raise $500 toward the Doug Smith Performance Center in order to grant access to theatre education to children.

Having access to live performance and theater education means so much to me, to the children of the world, and should also matter to you. Performing in front of an audience when I was a child gave me the chance to develop essential skills that I use daily. It has helped me build relationships, work in a team, speak publicly, and approach new situations with confidence (or at least pretend to)!  Without the theater, I would not be the person I am today.More than anything, I feel it is important to share the magic of the stage with youth so that they have love and appreciation of performing arts instilled in them for life. The world of theater does not have to be a dying art, if we insure that it lives on in the leaders of tomorrow.
 
The Georgetown Palace Theatre is proud to serve high-quality theatrical entertainment with accessibility for all, especially youth in the community. In order to deliver this gift of theater education to youth, The Palace has launched Envision, a capital campaign to build and provide a substantial education center for all students in the community wishing to learn through the theater. Due to insufficient resources, The Palace is currently unable to accept every student, but after the completion of the Doug Smith Performance Center, every child will have the opportunity to learn.
 
Not only will your donation help bring the power of theatre education to deserving students, but this campaign is also part of an arts administration class at the University of Texas. By donating you will be proving the power of asking to fellow students and I, inspiring us with the confidence and experience to carry this skill into our future careers. This is my very first crowdfunding campaign and I am excited to see it succeed!
 
I am not on the search for giant donations, but if you wish to donate more, feel free! I want to gather many small donations as many donations as possible and am just looking for donations of $20, $10, $5, or even $1. Every bit goes a long way in reaching the overall cost of $4.2 million.

All of the donations (minus the 2.9% + 30¢ fee kept by gofundme)will be directly deposited to The Georgetown Palace Theatre for use with the Envision capital campaign.
 
Children are the future of Texas and the hope of the world, and the Georgetown Palace Theatre endeavors to provide all students with the opportunity to gain life skills through the stage that they can carry forever and the capacity to welcome all who wish to learn.
