Brian Myers Motorcycle Accident

Donation protected
This past Saturday 2/11/23, while riding my motorcycle onto I95 via Hillsboro northbound on-ramp, I hit unexpected gravel on the road, and my rear tire broke loose and the bike started to slide out. While I was able to straighten it out/prevent falling at higher speeds, it was too late to relean and complete the turn. I braked as much as I could in the turn and ultimately hit the guard rail doing ~25-40mph, and immediately lowsided /slammed into the ground and the bike slid out.

While I'm super grateful for my helmet, jacket, and gloves keeping the injuries to a minimum, great riding gear will only do so much. I suffered an open fracture, dislocation, and multiple lacerations. I spent over 40 hours in trauma/ER care between two hospitals before being admitted into surgery Monday morning for Open Reduction and Internal Fixation.

My right hand (my dominant hand) is expected to take 3 months to fully recover. With multiple Dr appointments, and physical therapy ahead of me.

All of this happened a mere 3 days after being laid off from my day job. With being on bed rest and unable to work, the hospital bills, impound/towing fees, and my regular bills are all stacking up fast.

Anything and everything would be a great help for myself, my daughter, and my son in getting through these difficult times. Thank you
