SUSAN CATE'S STRENGTH

Donation protected
Susan Cate has impacted many with her beaming smile, her charismatic laugh, caring soul and her undeniable strength. She handles every obstacle in life with courageand a smile on her face. Where there's a wall, she climbs it. When there's bad news, she's the first to say something optimistic. Where there's a will, there IS a way; determination will kill any obstacle.

On April 1, 2015, Susan was admitted into the hospital for abdominal pain that night she learned that she had a very large mass causing a mass amount of pain. After a week of being poked and prodded, the doctor confirmed it to be a "double hit" -Cell Lymphoma Cancer (meaning there were 2 strands of cancer)

 Torn by these results . she was ready to fight this battle with the help of family and friends by her side or supporting from thousands of miles away. After six rounds of chemotherapy, Susan was checked in at City of Hope for a Stem Cell Transplant in September of 2015.

 She fought through 6 months with such fortitude and on October 1, 2015, Susan celebrated her re-birth hours after her Stem Cell Transplant. Susan was cancer free and blessed with a renewed life in front of her.

After a grueling 6 months, Susan was gaining her strength back and getting back into her routine;
 Her hair grew longer and her muscles grew stronger. But there were a few hitches along her road to recovery.

  With a few bumps in the road, Susan found herself back in the ER on April 8, 2016 (almost a year exactly) for pain in the abdominal near her kidneys.

After running some tests and performing a CT Scan, the nurse came back to the room with a doctor to tell Susan and David (Susan's supportive husband)words they wished they would never have tohear again. The nurse found a large mass pressing against her kidney and some major blood vessels that return the blood to her heart. With Susan’s history, the doctor suggested she check into the hospital to run more tests. Two short days later, the Oncologists were sure it was cancer. The B -Cell Lymphoma cancer was back. The Cate’s were all too familiar with the life shattering news when the results were confirmed. However, they were able to catch it in its early stages and there appears to be no cancer in the bone marrow. Susan is to undergo a few rounds of chemotherapy and a final full bone marrow transplant from a donor.

Under the circumstances, Susan is showing her true colors once again. Her courage and strengthis truly inspiring and continues to inspire many. By donating, you're helping in paying the countless medical bills, and taking a large burden off of Susan and David Cate's lap. We thank you and encourage your to show your love and support by using #SCateStrength in anything you share on social media for Susan Cate. Many thanks and Much love.
