Vivian's medical fund
Donation protected
First, I would like to thank you for your support and for taking the time to learn a little bit about my family. My name is Brian and I have been married for nearly 10 years to the love of my life Vivian. We have 2 beautiful daughters and couldnt ask for more. A few years ago after the birth of our second daughter, vivian started to have some medical issues, she was not having her nornal menstrual cycles each month and she continued to lactate three years after giving birth. After speaking with her primary physician and numerous office visits with her pcp and different specialists, we found that she was suffering from prolactinoma, a condition that effects the female hormones. Further testing revealed that the prolactinoma was being caused by a large tumor in her brain. Thankfully the tumor is benign and treatment may be needed. the doctors began to monitor the tumor in hopes that it could be treated with medications but unfortunately the medications only caused the tumor to grow in size. In late 2013 vivian was diagnoses with the tumor and its size was 18mm but after medications over the following year which gave many side affects such as nausea, vomiting, abd pain and severe headaches, the tumor grew to 20mm in size. Medications were stopped immediately and the doctors monitored the tumor throughout 2014. The physicians only options were to either perform surgery or to just monitor its size in case it began to grow. In early 2015 vivian stared to notice more frequent headaches and problems in her vision. The vision issues were a main concern due to the location of the tumor which is located between her pituitary gland and her optic nerve. After having an exam with her optometrist, it was found that vivian is now losing her periferal vision and her sight in her left eye. the exam alson showed a decrease in vision in her right eye as well. With this newfound issues we have seen numerous doctors and specialists. her primary doctor, ob doctor, e.n.t. doctor, neuro surgeon, endocrinologist as well as second opinions in treatment. All of the physicians have come to the same conclusion and that is that vivian will need to have neuro surgery to remove the tumor before she loses her vision completely. We have discussed options and the only thing holding us back is our finances. We both work full time jobs and continue our education in hopes for advancing our careers. We do have medical insurance but our premiums and co-pays are adding up rapidly, each office visit, lab test and imaging exam all requires a co-payment at time of visit. the procedure will also have a co-payment involved. Vivian obviously will not be able to work once the surgery is performed and will be out of work until she fully recovers. I will need to take time off from work as well to tend to my wife and to care for our two daughters. we cannot financially afford to have this procedure done but it is neccesary as it could become life threatening. We are having a very hard time trying to comprehend all of this so suddenly and the thoughts of surgery are stressful enough without having to worry about how our bills will get paid, how we will continue to pay our rent and feed our children. the kids are young and do not fully understand what is going on, my wife struggles each day worrying about how our bills will be paid, I struggle each day worrying about my wifes health. We are both under alot of stress due to these issues and we are out of options. We pray everyday in hopes of seeing a light at the end of our tunnel and we know our heavenly father watches over us. This is very hard for me to ask for help but we have no other options. We would appreciate any donation in any amount to help us, If you cannot make a donation we understand but we ask that you please keep our family in your prayers. Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read this and we appreciate anything you can do.
