United Nations Association Gift Shop

Hi, I'm Liz Lee, a volunteer with the United Nations Association Gift Shop at 552 Emerson St., Palo Alto, CA 94301. The shop is an all volunteer-run non-profit that sells fair-trade, handcrafted merchandise from vendors in developing countries and donates all profits to US Fund for UNICEF. The shop has been a mainstay in Palo Alto since 1974. Due to the pandemic, business has been way down and the shop has been struggling. Meeting our fundraising goal will pay for the rent and some overhead expenses for a year and help our shop survive. All donations are tax deductible.

The shop sells:

CLOTHING

JEWELRY

ACCESSORIES

ARTS & CRAFTS

HOUSEWARES

CHILDREN'S BOOKS

TOYS

greeting cards and more. Most items are handmade, and many are made with recycled materials.

In the 1970's when I was a teenager, my mother loved buying Indian and Guatemalan clothes, African baskets and potholders from the UNA Gift Shop and I still cherish those items today in her memory. Years later when my children were little, my parents bought children's books for them from there. Now I and my kids are grown, my parents have passed on, and the shop has come to have great sentimental meaning for me and our fun, lively group of volunteers and many others.

Please send us your donations to keep our shop running so we can help the children that depend on us to survive and thrive. Thank you!
