Una nueva vida para Susana Sussmann

Hola. Mi nombre es Soledad Santamarina y soy amiga de Susana Sussmann. Les voy a hablar de ella. Pero antes, voy a contarles quién soy yo y por qué hago esto. Como Susana, he vivido en Venezuela desde que era un buen lugar para vivir. Allí me crié y me convertí en la adulta que soy. Como Susana, llegó el momento de irme. Ahora que soy madre puedo imaginar lo difícil que es criar un hijo en medio de la terrible crisis en que está sumido el país.

Susana Sussmann es una activa promotora de la ciencia ficción en Venezuela. Organizó por 10 años la Tertulia Caraqueña de Ciencia Ficción, Fantasía y Terror, creó el Concurso Venezolano de Literatura Fantástica y Ciencia Ficción SOLSTICIOS, edita una revista electrónica y colabora con la Asociación Venezolana de Ciencia Ficción y Fantasía. Pero la crisis humanitaria que vive Venezuela, la escasez de alimentos y medicinas, la diáspora de médicos, la hiperinflación y la inseguridad la van alejando cada vez más del activismo cultural en una suerte de desesperada vorágine por la supervivencia diaria.

Susana quiere seguir dedicándose a impulsar la ciencia ficción venezolana. También quiere, por fin, publicar su primer libro. Susana tiene, además, un hijo de ocho años, talentoso, con alto CI, que requiere una educación especial que no podrá obtener en Venezuela.

A Susana y a su esposo les han ofrecido trabajar en Alemania, pero la ciudad a la que deben mudarse para ello es una de las más caras del país. Mudarse es considerablemente oneroso y, por eso, ella necesita ayuda. Cualquier colaboración, por poco que pudiera parecer, es enorme y puede hacer la diferencia. Difundir esta petición de socorro también es una grande y maravillosa forma de ayudar.

But the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, the shortage of food and medicine, the diaspora of doctors, hyperinflation and insecurity are increasingly distancing her from cultural activism in a sort of desperate vortex for daily survival.

Susana wants to continue dedicating herself to promoting Venezuelan science fiction. He also wants, finally, to publish his first book. Susana also has an eight-year-old son, talented, with high IQ, who requires a special education that he will not be able to obtain in Venezuela.

Susana and her husband have been offered work in Germany, but the city they must move to is one of the most expensive in the country. Moving is considerably burdensome and, therefore, she needs help.
