Rally around Carly!

Update 11/19/23: Carly has been home from the hospital for 1.5 weeks. She's up and independent, though very weak and lacking stamina. She is on several medications to keep her life threatening MAS condition away. Any change in those meds and her body tries to go back into it. Because of all this, and per doctor orders, she's still unable to work. She misses her job so much! Needless to say, this has rocked her world in a way we could have never imagined. She's so beyond appreciative of all of you who have donated, shared her story, sent meals, and prayed tirelessly. Keep it up, she still has such a long road ahead! You
Update 10/31/23: Carly's body is in the beginning stages of a condition called MAS. Per the rheumatologist, MAS can turn life-threatening very quickly and her body is trying to push into that condition. She's been readmitted to the hospital and with extremely high doses of steroids and higher doses of immuno suppressants, they are hoping that they can squash the MAS before it progresses further. At this point she will be in the hospital for at least three days and labs will be monitored very closely to see if the MAS is reversing. If it doesn't start to change, or it starts to get worse, there will need to be another game plan. It's just going to have to be taken day by day.
Update 10/13/23: Good news! Carly is improving significantly most labs are heading down in the right direction and so there's talk of her getting discharged today! There are still two labs that we aren't sure of yet and so the final ok to leave will have to come from the rheumatologist. She is getting out of bed on her own, taking showers on her own, it's incredible! Her strength and endurance is still low and that will just take time. Fun fact though - only one doctor (out of all the staff) here had ever even heard of STILL'S disease this has been WILD! Thank you for all the prayers!
Update 10/11/23: Carly's been diagnosed with Adult Onset STILL'S disease. It's an extremely rare autoimmune condition that can attack many areas of the body including joints, muscles, internal organs, throat, and more. Currently it's hit her musculoskeletal system, skin, lungs, and liver.
First let me start with - she is stable and OK right now! We got a call from Carly's rheumatologist today and her labs were going in the wrong direction rapidly. We've had to quickly add in a specific medication to make sure that we can prevent a life-threatening condition that can occur from the STILL'S disease. She got it this afternoon and now we pray, pray, pray it works!
She says wants me to tell you all thank you for the sweet words and prayers and encouragement!
Hi, I am Brianna, Carly's sister. Those of you who know Carly know that she is one of a kind! She works in the SpEd department at her local elementary school and is always looking for ways to help others. Now we have an opportunity to rally around her! Maybe even make finances the least of her worries as we navigate an unknown path toward healing.
If don't know the story, Carly thought she came down with the flu 2 1/2 weeks ago. Each day just got progressively worse and she's now hospitalized for the second time. Multiple diagnoses have been ruled out and although we do have a direction to look towards, she still has a long road ahead.
These funds will solely be going towards medical bills, partial loss of income, medications, and any other care related expenses.
How can you help?
First and foremost - pray for her. It's been tough physically and emotionally on so many levels. Then if you feel led, go ahead and donate, every dollar will be helpful. Can't donate, that's ok! You can shoot her an encouraging word on Facebook or even share this gofund me!
Her and her husband, Matt (and all of us), are so grateful for all the support and prayers and encouragement! Thank you!
