Unbroken Promise Initiative

My name is Jordan Clemons and I am the Founder of Unbroken Promise Initiative, Inc. This nonprofit organization was created to benefit those who have been disenfranchised, marginalized, and victimized by systemic oppression in our Ithaca Community. Because of gentrification, the black and brown people have been pushed out of their neighborhoods and forced to settle in neglected parts of our community.

The funds will be used to build a localized economy on the West End of Ithaca. Our families can no longer wait for those in power to save us. Law Enforcement continues to show racial bias by assigning police officers as well as Ithaca S.W.A.T. to patrol areas with high minority concentrations. We believe that with an abundance of resources and an equal opportunity, we can create a safe and sustainable future for all disenfranchised and under-served people. We will build a social economic structure which invest heavily into educational programs and youth services. Families will obtain a healthy-living lifestyle with focus being "farm to table." Vocational programs will be available. Our communities will be built energy efficient and be Eco-friendly.  Mental health services are vital, as many of our families suffer from trauma and it is a priority of ours to offer the resources needed to help with the healing process. In addition, we will work rigorously to reverse generations of poverty and marginalization which have put our families to be in a scarce state of mind. 

Your support in our initiative will symbolize truth and reconciliation, truth and justice, truth and repair. Lives will be saved for generations, and vicious cycles which decimated families  will no longer exist. Most importantly, it will be a model of true inclusivity and what can be accomplished when we all have the freedom to pursue a life of happiness. We will no longer be participants in a system which continues to oppress and silence our people.
