Kenan Street Fire Relief Fund

Hi, I made this GoFundMe for my brother Chase Taylor and his roommates Edward Estrada and Shamar Brodie, whose college house burned down yesterday morning (7/6/21).

Around 6:00 A.M, two of the roommates woke up to the sound of glass breaking from a fire that started on the porch of their house. They escaped out of the back door before the flames got to them but were unable to grab any of their belongings.

Thankfully, no one was injured. The firefighters said, however, that the house is now unlivable. Nearly everything in the house (furniture, clothing, beds, books, etc) is unsalvageable and will need to be replaced. Several thousand dollars worth of furniture, clothing, and other treasured belongings are now lost. Only one out of the four people who lived there has renters insurance. Funds raised will be split amongst the three roommates without renters insurance to cover repair and replacement expenses.

Also, if anyone knows of any housing opportunities in Chapel Hill, they would love to remain together and are actively looking for spots as they are now displaced for the upcoming school year. Thank you.
