Uncle Doug WOMMA WEST OAHU MIX MARTIAL ARTS ACDMY

Aloha Ohana and Friends,

A strong man, who everyone knows as Douglas Amaral “uncle Doug”, who holds his head up high, even when he felt pain, needs our help. On July 13,2023, Uncle was admitted to the ICU. He developed a bacterial infection in both legs affecting his ability to walk. Along with the infection, it brought to light other undiagnosed health complications that have taken a toll on his internal organs. This has led to blood transfusions and an intensive treatment plan to recovery. As a long time “fighter”, he will overcome this battle.

Uncle Doug is known for his hard working nature and skills that he portrays at his gym and in whatever else he does. He takes ownership and pride in everything he does . His kicking boxing skills and his dedicated coaching reflects in his teaching and gym. One of his biggest accomplishments were opening his gym, West Oahu Mixed Martial Arts Academy, to anyone at no cost and being able to keep kids off the streets and out of trouble. He was proud to say that he made UFC champions, and that made his dream come true. They knew that Uncle Doug was always there for them and they would always feel wanted and safe, which made uncle happy. That was his MO, always putting everyone first, before himself.

Uncle has never asked for help, but at this time, he needs our Kokua!
