Uncle Willie’s Cancer Treatment

Uncle Willie has always loved abundantly, given graciously, and served his family, friends, and community with a humble heart and of course, that signature smile.

Sadly, our beloved Uncle Willie was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022. With a can-do attitude, and selfless humility, he has been fighting this battle on his own as to not worry his loved ones.

Now the cancer has grown more aggressive and like many, the system has failed Uncle Willie. Even working full-time through treatment, his medical was cut off erroneously and the resulting medical bills have piled up and discouraged him further from wanting to seek treatment. At this time, the cancer has more than doubled and Uncle Willie must undergo radiation treatment to keep the cancer from metastasizing. This cancer is life-threatening and treatment is necessary for his recovery.

On top of these health concerns, a fire in the adjacent building to Uncle Willie’s apartment has resulted in the lot being evicted and he is additionally burdened with the need to find a new place to live. The eviction date is quickly approaching as medical bills continue to pile up.

Uncle Willie has done everything he was supposed to do in working to have his medical coverage reinstated so he can continue radiation treatment, but the medical bills have already exceeded $6,000 and continue to quickly mount. As Uncle Willie’s family, we are concerned for his well-being and want to help keep that smile around to continue bringing joy to others.
