Underground Sounds Must Die... Or Not.

Hello, esteemed supporters!

As many of you know, Underground Sounds is an independent, locally owned record store in downtown Ann Arbor, established in 2001. While we have been extremely lucky with consistent sales growth over the years, we, too, have been hit very hard by the current state of the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While we are fortunate enough to still be sending out online orders from our official website (http://ugsounds.com) and Discogs, we have quickly realized this is simply not enough to keep the lights on. We are also growing deeply concerned about our ability to provide an excellent Record Store Day for all. This is where you come in.

Our goals are simple: pay the rent, pay the independent labels we work with, and keep providing records to the wonderful people of Ann Arbor, and all over the world. We are greatly looking forward to working with all of you in person again sometime soon, and we thank you for your time and unwavering support for our little shop.

While this is a struggle we are all going through, our hope is that you think about how your heart still gets a little fuzzy every time you hear the needle drop. Our biggest goal is to be able to continue to provide that for you once the world settles back down.
