We Can Do This! Somehow in our little community of Jericho & Underhill, Vermont just as the leaves are changing, the days are getting shorter & the temperatures are dropping, we have a stray cat & kitten population growing. We want to save all the cats and kittens, find homes for them all, spay & neuter any adult cats & SAVE THEM ALL!
We can't do it without some financial help. We trap the cats and kittens, make sure they have all the veterinary care they require, feed and house them, and begin to domesticate and socialize them so. that they can become pets that will behave well in their forever homes.
I have been the Animal Control Officer for 20 years and have never actually had to ask for financial assistance until now. I want to continue to save this colony of cats and kittens but the adoption fees alone can not cover all the direct expenses.
For the last six weeks I have been trapping and catching kittens in one concentrated area on the border of Jericho and Underhill and so far I have saved 9 kittens and 1 momma cat. CC, the momma cat, did a terrific time helping to nurse and groom kittens that I know and I assume she knows, were not hers. Today, I trapped three more kittens, bringing the total to 12 and I am certain based on phone calls and emails that there are several adult cats and more kittens too.
The local veterinarian, Allana Mather, Mount Mansfield Animal Hospital and her awesome team of veterinary technicians have been unbelievable; dropping everything for me and squeezing me in at a moments notice. They have agreed to continue to help with this cause in our community but we need some funds to make it happen
Jerihill Hardware has also generously donated some cat food to us. Please donate some money so I can make sure that all of these cats are in a warm home before winter sets in. Any amount matters, really. This money will go to Town of Underhill into a fund reserved for Animal Control.
