You have already been brilliant and supported my book, 'Understand : Dare : Thrive. How to have your best career from today', and I'm massively grateful for you doing so - pledging to make it possible for this work to reach the hands of the women who will benefit so much from it.
Through our book - and I do see it as ours, given that you've helped make it possible - readers will have the insights, strategies and pragmatic support to enable them to secure the roles, recognition, support and rewards they merit, more quickly and with far less angst and hassle along the way.
But, as a Head of Talent, Learning and Development put it, 'every day that the book isn't available, is a day that women lose the opportunity for better outcomes at work'. She'd seen the impact of delivering the content of the book via workshops and mentoring in her business, and has been as impatient as you and I to see the book out there.
So, the purpose of setting this crowdfunding page up is to facilitate the move of funding pledges from my original publisher across to the Arkbound Foundation , who are a social enterprise publisher dedicated to addressing social inequalities, and who are therefore able to prioritise our book, ensuring significantly earlier publication than was otherwise possible.
So I'm sorry to have to create this additional step for you in asking you to move your pledge across, but it's one I feel I have to make. It's the difference between a 2021 launch and 2022.
Your original pledge (s) will be honoured which includes your name being featured in every edition of the book, thanking you for making it possible.
If you haven't already heard from me in person to confirm exactly what that was - the amount of money and what you receive in return - please do email me using the contact link below, and I will confirm the details straight away.
Please do stick with our book. If we are able to exceed the new, lower funding target, we will explore how we can use that money to extend the reach of the book to benefit more women's careers. Free copies for school, college and uni libraries and careers departments are one obvious idea. Your ideas are most welcome!
