Undy U11 girls football team Severn bridge walk
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Maisie, and I’m 10 years old.
I play for the under-11 Undy Girls football team. In April, I had a serious open-heart surgery to fix a large hole in my heart. I was in surgery for 5 hours ,and I spent 6 days in the hospital recovering. I was really scared, but the night before my surgery, the Heart Heroes charity gave me a special teddy bear with a passport and stickers for each ward I visited. This made me feel happy and gave me something to focus on during a tough time.
When I woke up in the ICU, my Heart Hero teddy was there with me. While I was recovering, a lady from Heart Heroes told me about all the amazing things they do. Since 2018, Heart Heroes has been supporting children and families affected by lifelong heart conditions through projects, trips, hospital support, mental health services, and more. She made me feel safe and reminded me to be proud of my scar.
Now, me and the football girls want to raise money to support both Heart Heroes and our team. Half of the money will go to Heart Heroes, and the other half will go toward winter kits to keep us warm during our matches — I’ll finally be able to play again in November, and having a warm kit will help me too!
We will be walking over the Severn Bridge (both ways) on Sunday 3rd November at 10am in our football kits with a little twist of dribbling the ball across too (wish us luck).
All are welcome to join us starting point will be at B&M in Bulwark Chepstow.
Any donations would mean the world to me and my team, helping support Heart Heroes and keep us warm on the pitch!
Let’s do this girls!
