Hi! If you've been sent this GoFundMe, you pledged a certain amount per bird for the benefit of the Biddeford Food Pantry. With your help, we raised over $1,900 dollars for the Biddeford Community. Amazing what a couple people can accomplish just through looking at birds!
For those who are not entirely sure what this fundraiser is about: a group of 5 members from the UNE Birding Club took part in a big day on Sunday April 11th. While the goal of every big day is to find the most species, we decided to put another spin on it.
Life got really rough last year for a lot of people, so we wanted to help. But how does one use birding for good? A charity big day!
Over the last week, family, friends, and professors have been pledging various amounts of money per bird seen on our big day. We amassed 31 donors, and after completing the big day with 97 species, we raised $1,940 for the Biddeford Food Pantry. Of course we are still open to new donors, anything helps!
