Unexpected brain surgery while adopting baby boy

Hi everyone! My name is Lindsay and I created this go fund me to help support my sister Kelsey & her husband Hayden with some unexpected expenses. After 3.5 years of infertility, Kelsey & Hayden had been pursing adoption for over a year when they got the call of a lifetime in then beginning of January. They now have a beautiful newborn joining their family. During their process of finalization, they have been stuck for over a month in another state not able to go back to their home to get settled in. Not knowing they couldn’t come home right away, they have had to spend thousands for rentals in addition to standard adoption fees they were already expecting.

On top of all of this- last week they found out Kelsey needs brain surgery and it is scheduled for next week. Kelsey has an extensive medical history, including 4 major surgeries in the last 5 years. She has a pituitary adenoma and has been on medication for years to treat it. She finally found an amazing doctor in Seattle who is willing to take on her case and remove the tumor. Not only will they need a place to stay from days before her surgery during pre op apts, they will need a place to stay during post op. After, they will commuting back to Seattle multiple times for post op. Not only are flights so expensive, driving 8 hours in one day with a newborn is extensive if they chose that route.

I know these two are not the type to reach out for help, but at this point I feel like it’s necessary to reach out for support for them. Being parents has been their dream and of course it comes with extra obstacles when it finally happens for them when these should be the best moments of their life.
