Unexpected Death of Joshua Shipley (2004-2023)

My name is Trey Smith. I am the cousin of Misty and Sean Shipley. It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we have to share the unexpected passing of their son, Joshua Shipley on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023. Josh was 18 years young. He was a son, brother, and beloved friend to many.

Josh was a senior at Bridges Preparatory School. He passed away unexpectedly while in Costa Rica studying abroad as a foreign exchange student. The family is searching for answers as to why what seemed like a common cold or allergies has taken his life so quickly. With all of the emotional pain and stress that death brings, it can also bring financial burdens. The family is booking flights to go to Costa Rica and bring Josh home. The family would also potentially like to perform an additional autopsy back in the US. We would like to raise money for Josh’s family to help with these expense.
