Unexpected death of Mr. Beefcakes
Donation protected
People who know me will surely expect this Gofundme to be for someone other than myself. It’s true, I’d much rather be organizing care and support for our community, but this time it’s my family that requires your help.
Our dog, Mr. Beefcakes went into sudden cardiac arrest Thursday evening. We knew something was wrong and took him to Boundary Bay Emergency clinic where the staff triaged and cared for him immediately, but before I finished the intake paperwork, his heart had stopped. The doctors performed CPR and tried to save our best friend but it was too late.
My husband Adam and I live for our dogs, and Beefcakes brought an unsurpassable amount of love to our lives over the last 8 years. Adam has a neuromuscular tissue disorder, similar to MS, that causes him significant pain and mobility issues. Beefcakes was my husband’s companion during each day when he would have otherwise been alone. When I returned home from work each evening, Beefcakes would happily greet me ready for a walk and to remind me how important it is to take care of yourself while caring for others.
We left the veterinary clinic without our best friend but with an invoice just under $1500. We live on a fixed budget so for us to give Beefcakes peace and have him returned home, we’re facing substantial financial compromises to start the new year. If you are able to help ease this financial hardship by donating today, we will be forever grateful for your love and generosity during this time of grieving.
