Unexpected Expenses-Brian & Kelly Pinheiro
Donation protected
On June 26, 2022, Brian and I were returning home from our weekly date to the Biltmore House when our motorcycle was struck by a car. Both Brian and I were thrown from the motorcycle, which subsequently burst into flames.
Brian and I were both critically injured and transported to Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Heartbreakingly, Brian succumbed to his injuries despite life-saving efforts. I remained in the hospital for 9 weeks receiving multiple surgeries before I was discharged to my sisters. As of today, it's been 29 weeks since the accident and I'm scheduled for additional surgeries related to the injuries I received.
I've not only lost the place Brian and I called home but I've lost my soul mate. I was never able to hold his hand one last time, tell him I love him and say goodbye for now. My new reality consists of mourning his loss with my every breath and enduring intense physical pain with every step I take. I do my best to hide this so as not to make others uncomfortable but this is the truth of the matter.
While there was insurance and there is a pending lawsuit, it could take years to resolve. Doctors remain unsure when I'll be able to return to work but I'm fighting hard every day to return my life to some semblance of normal.
I'm immensely grateful to everyone that has generously donated. All donations have been and will continue to be used to pay ongoing medical bills, funeral arrangements, meals and other unexpected expenses.
A memorial service has been arranged for Saturday, January 21st, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Jackson Funeral Home. 1101 Greenville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC 28792
