Unexpected Funeral Expenses for Joseph Aviles Lopez

Joseph Aviles Lopez was tragically killed when he was struck by a train, on November 8th, on Florida Ave near Busch Blvd, in Tampa.

My name is Donny Munoz and Joseph Aviles Lopez is the father of my step son, Joey Passarella. We are shocked and absolutely devastated by Joseph’s death and unfortunately we are not financially prepared to pay for funeral services as this was unexpected.

Joseph was a kind soul who loved his son, family and country. Joseph did not have much but what he did have, he cherished. He made sure everything was “just right” and kept clean. Joseph’s childhood dream was to be in the army but life took him in a different direction. Although Joseph never served in the army, his pride showed through in his everyday clothing of army colors. Joseph loved listening to music, especially with his son, Joey.

I am raising money to help Joey cover the cost of his father’s funeral service, transportation, cremation costs and burial. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate his financial strain and give him time to grieve. November 19th is the expected date of the funeral service with a viewing on the evening of the 18th. However, the medical examiner has not released Joseph to the funeral home so the date is tentative as we do not know the actual date he will be released. Gofundme requires I put a service date and the funeral home requires payment upfront. I will update the final date as soon as it is confirmed.
