Unexpected Life Altering Event

***UPDATE***
Mr. Briggs is finally home! Now he is on the path to recovery. He will still need help so we would love to support his family with prayers, love and some food! We will start a MealTrain for their family so that people can sign up to send them gift cards to their favorite places to eat. You can send the gift cards electronically or you can give them directly to Stefani Salinas to give to the family. Due to the physical therapy schedule and the apartment office hours, we will have to limit dropping off food during the week. If you are wanting to take them homemade meals or delivery take out yourself, please contact Stefani to arrange that option for a Saturday or Sunday. As always, thank you for your love, prayers and support!

In our line of work, we see all kinds of emergencies, hazards and life happening before our eyes. Sometimes, these things hit closer to home than expected. Fortunate for us, Dallas Fire-Rescue knows how to take care of each other when someone is need.
We have our own DHFA brother, who has experienced an emergency that has caused some unexpected life changes for him and his family. As Clarence was serving the citizens of Dallas, he experienced a stroke on duty which quickly lead to a bigger issue causing him to undergo an emergency brain surgery. Since then, his family has spent endless nights around the clock at the hospital as he fights to overcome this battle. We ask that you keep the Briggs family in your prayers as we lean on God for his healing and recovery.
Please join me in blessing our DFR family, FPO C. Briggs who works in our FPEI bureau (father of former DHFA member Kalani Briggs and father-in-law of SFPO B. Bullard). When our brothers and sisters experience hardships in life, the last thing we want them to do is stress over finances. If we all do our part, we can all help remove some of that stress as Mr. Briggs continues to recover in the hospital in hopes to come home soon. We also appreciate the support of our citizens as well as the Kookie Haven customers who have come to love this family just as much as we do. As he progresses, we will update the information and when the time comes we will create a Meal Train to help once they are home. Another thing we will be assisting with is their family dog, Max is staying at the VCA Animal Hospital on Forest Central until they can return home. You can donate to the hospital directly or you can donate through this effort as well. This is another expense that can stack up and become stressful. We appreciate any support you can provide, nothing is too small! Thank you in advance for your prayers, support and love towards this beautiful family. Let's come together, as one family...
Respectfully,
