Unexpected Passing of Gian Nardin

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing about the loss of our dear friend and incredible man, Gian Nardin. After suffering a tragic accident on Aug. 27, Gian was placed on life support and unfortunately passed away on Sept. 1, 2021.

As with any loss, there are numerous unplanned funeral, and for this family, travel costs. Especially in a time where artists are already financially challenged, any support you may be able to offer would certainly be appreciated by his family.

Anyone who had the pleasure of being with Gian knew him as a shy, gentle, and incredibly kind human. So often, his goofy, care free attitude would leave us laughing together with him without exactly knowing why it was that we were laughing. To all of his friends, that this was a common and shared experience. He was easy to laugh with and this laughter was never far away. In addition to this, those that knew him would know his depth as well, he had a deep care for the people he loved. Gian loved to smile.

Gian's talent, love for life, and constant pursuit of adventure was evident in everything he did. Although Gian may no longer be with us, he will continue to live on in all of our memories and experiences together with this generous, kind human being. His incredible talents will be missed on stage at Cirque du Soleil's "Drawn to Life" as well as his many personal and future projects with Hoops Désolé.  As a proud alumnus of ECQ, Gian will be missed across the circus and performance world.
