Donation protected
Mark Leon Sr, also known by many as Markie, was born on July 23,1960. Born and raised in Upland, California, he was called up to Heaven on March 1st 2021. He is reunited with his father Lupe Cortez Leon and mother Josephine Leon along with two of his brothers Lupe and Larry Leon. The one we call Dad, anyone will tell you is the most generous and kind-hearted person you would ever meet.
Mark was recently admitted into the hospital with a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) due to complications post covid. Our dad fought hard and tirelessly, and defeated the covid virus. Unfortunately since December of 2020 Mark had been facing the after-effects of which caused his lung to become collapsed. We are all devastatingly broken beyond tears, as our Dad showed promising results that he would come home to us once again. Recovering miracle after miracle surprising his Doctors and Nurses, Mark Leon was on high flow oxygen and put on life support twice terrifying all of our family, but each time coming back stronger giving us tears of hope. Our Dad held on as long as he could. Fighting through a long hard battle, having to be placed in the Telemetry and Intensive Care Unit while getting on and off the ventilator numerous times while others wouldn't make it off once. We are blessed to have had access to our Dad within the hospital considering the pandemic. His wife Isabel and daughters April and Crystal remain employees for the hospital our dad resided in. We were able to offer that familiar face and gentle caring touch for our dad Mark Leon while being away from home for so long. We smiled at the thought of him still being able to carry his funny personality throughout his journey. The last procedure that he had done the doctor was able to place three valves on his left lung. The surgery went very well and our Dad's lung had fully risen, resulting in yet another miracle of recovery. Our Dad's doctor said his recovery looked promising. Unfortunately, just two days after his procedure, we received an early morning phone call that our Dad’s condition had taken a turn for the worse. The medical team worked effortlessly to revive him, It was then shared with us that our dad had made his way to heaven. Our Dad was the soulmate to our mother Isabel, meeting at the age of sixteen, growing together, forever will they remain as one, just as their wedding song, “Always and Forever.” We are truly blessed to have had Mark Leon Sr. our loving father, for the amount of time we’ve been given alongside him on this earth.
We really never thought of a GoFundMe, but with countless messages, and support asking "let me know if you need anything?” At this time the help is greatly welcomed. We are just asking if you can please share our gofundme link and contribute any donation possible as well as any prayers. We Are Forever grateful.
Mark Leon is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Isabel Leon, two Sons Mark Leon jr and David Leon, three daughters Crystal Leon, April Leon, and Priscilla Leon and beloved grandchildren of ten.
