Unfair Government Treatment of Church
Tax deductible
Los Angeles Public Health is trying to shut down churches across the county
they continue to change rules and guidelines to complicate citizens from exercising their first amendment rights and freedoms
the church complied with all guidelines, then they put new guidelines after sending health officials (spies) to monitor their activity
the church leadership used masks, social distancing, regular sanitization, limited number of people indoors,
then health officials added new rules that go against the CDC and WHO, like making a single worship leader wear a mask while singing when he is more than 15 ft away from the congregants
then demanding the pastor (my dad) wear a mask while teaching. He has a hard time already since he’s recovering from a severe injury and subsequent surgery to his leg
Even though they were following rules, the demands kept increasing and changing against scientific recommendations to the point where they were threatened with $500/hr fine per every violation they had and the county would keep sending officials into the services every week to tax the church to closure
Burdened, they moved the services outside to avoid fines since it’s not an affluent neighborhood and it’s not a wealthy church by any means, yet they were still given a $500 fine for no apparent reasons with threats for more
even after moving outside, public health told them they couldn’t use a sound system outdoors and to make services quiet. Those are absurd orders beyond their jurisdiction. Public health can’t tell a church they can’t use a sound system when the city of Whittier already allows them to use one
it’s clear these threats are just being used to intimidate churches unfairly and to prevent them from exercising their rights to worship God together
I am trying to raise $500 for the initial fine and an extra $500 for the following week of likely fines to show my dad and his church struggling to overcome these insane shutdown restrictions in LA that people still support churches and to show the county they have no power over the constitution
I will also be giving $500 myself to show this isn’t a money grab All donations go directly to the church as it’s a registered 501.3c. I am not withdrawing the money and they are the only ones able to pull it out.
