Unfortunate Accident of Jonathan Charkas

On September 9th, 2020, Jonathan Charkas passed away in a tragic car accident on Muddy Branch Rd in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He was survived by his four children; Maximus (17), Isaac (13), Brandon (12), and Natalie (11).  All whom he loved very much.  Jonathan was very close to his family, especially his five brothers; Luis, Carlos, Steven, Michael, and David.  Anyone who knows our family knows how close “the Charkas brothers” are.  Jonathan instilled this same family value into his children. He wanted to make sure his children were just as united as he was with his brothers. If you knew Jonathan, you knew how funny he was and how he was always making people laugh and cracking the funniest jokes. If you were Jonathan’s friend, you knew he always had your back and would never let you down. His loyalty to our family and loved ones meant everything to him.  Jonathan had a way of cheering you up when you felt down. He had a love and gift for art, specifically abstract art. 

Jonathan had recently registered for classes and wanted to go back to school. He instilled these same values in his children and did everything he could to provide them with a better future. As you can imagine, this unexpected loss has been devastating for our family.  As we try to move forward, pick up the pieces, and make arrangements for what’s to come, we would greatly appreciate any contributions towards the costs of his funeral and the support for his children. All funds not used for the funeral will be placed in trust funds for Max, Isaac, Brandon, and Natalie. Our family appreciates all of the well wishes and prayers from every single one of you.
