Hello everyone!
I'm a 27 year old trans poet and editor living in Upstate NY.
I'm currently stranded in Vermont with my car in the shop for an expensive repair that's taken 4 days longer than planned. I've been sleeping in a tent but I desperately need a hotel room tonight for my own sanity and to have a secure internet connection for my work. This is the second expensive repair my car has needed in as many months and I'm not even sure how much this one will cost. As I am in a rural area, I need my car to do really anything at all.
In the past few days I've learned that there is black mold and a sewage leak in the house I'm living in with my dog. I just moved in last month after a cross-country drive. I need funds to secure immediate short term housing until I can find a much needed stable long term living situation. I also need help covering moving expenses (again), security deposits (again), and other expenses that come with uprooting my current situation, (storage unit fees, gas, food, etc). This will be my 4th move I've made since last June, and all those expenses have really added up. Having a dog complicates short term arrangements so the short term expenses could really add up. I need to have a working car to even start solving any of these problems!
On top of everything my medications have been running me several hundred dollars a month until I can find a stable place to live so I can apply for medicaid there.
I'm hoping to be able to catch my breath and be able to build stability and health for myself, and every little bit helps! But even before I can do that I need to find somewhere safe to be tonight. Please share, and thanks!
