Housing for Women Veterans & their Children
Tax deductible
DBA Sisters in Arms Center
Hi we are veterans and community members raising money for our sisters who have served us and now need a little help from our friends, family and neighbors to stay warm this winter so they can get back on their feet.
Here is a little information about the SiAC home built to support our women vets & their children (and pets):
The Sisters in Arms Center (SIAC) is a safe haven for all women veterans. We have transitional housing available for women veterans who have found themselves without housing often due to sudden unexpected life challenges (pipes bursting, domestic violence, loss of income, combat or sexual trauma).
In the last year alone, we provided over 3150 warm nights/days for our women vets (not counting children) to help them transition back into the workforce and independent housing. We are 1 out of 10 transitional centers in the country solely for women vets & their children. Ever since our founding, we have been working hard to help carve out a safe space for women veterans in Maine- a population that has often survived multiple traumas and who have been seeking a welcoming home for decades.
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving on November 28th, 2023, and the Sisters in Arms Center is participating.
We’re humbly asking for your support. We have a goal of raising $5000. Will you help us?
Your support is essential and very much appreciated.
