Breast Cancer Reconstruction

As some of you know, I was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer (Metaplastic Breast Cancer) in January 2018. I started chemo treatment in February, despite the fact that my insurance doesn't cover any of my treatments. I completed 4 rounds of A/C and 12 rounds of Taxol.   Throughout the pain...mouth sores...weight loss...hair loss, etc., I have tried my best to stay positive. One thing that countinues to haunt me is the financial burden. Between everyday bills and medical...the bills are mounting. Collectively, the medical bills will cost over $100,000.  I do the best I can and make small monthly payments. The hospital helps pay some of my doctors appointments and tests, and I am grateful for that. Now that the chemo is done, I need to have a double mastectomy since I am BRACA 2 positive.  I HAVE to have a fighting chance of keeping the cancer gone. Without surgery,  it will return. Unfortunately, I cannot make payments on the double mastectomy or the tissue expanders that I will need for reconstruction.  These procedures  must be paid up front, and I was not made aware of that until I went to my appointment  to schedule my surgery.  I was devastated. It will be  $5,000 for the double  mastectomy and $2,589 for the plastic surgeon to put the tissue expanders in for reconstruction. (As of 8/1expander costs have been paid by private donor). Anything anyone can do to help me reach this goal to get this much needed double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery  is VERY much appreciated - from the bottom of my heart.
