Uni’s Paws-itive Recovery: We Need Your Help!

Hi, my name is Chelsey Umali, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my sweet dog, Uni. She’s only 3 years old, but she’s already brought so much love and happiness into my family's life. But just a few days ago, everything changed in an instant.

What started as a normal day quickly turned into a nightmare when Uni began having uncontrollable seizures. Within hours, she was rushed to the ER, sedated, and intubated. The doctors were able to stabilize her, but her conditions horrifically progressed. Uni was transferred to a specialized animal hospital where they started giving her intensive care. They found that her body was struggling to manage toxins, and her sodium levels were dangerously high. It was a terrifying time, and Kevin and I were heartbroken watching her go through so much.

Over the next couple of days, Uni has shown incredible strength. She was weaned off the sedatives, her breathing tube was removed, and she's slowly began to improve. She’s more alert now, and she’s thankfully eating again, but she’s still having periods of coughing and shortness of breath. There’s unfortunately a long road ahead for her to get back to her happy, healthy self.

The medical bills have quickly become overwhelming, and while we're doing everything we can, we're asking for help from friends, family, and kind strangers who may be able to offer support. Anything you can give will go directly towards Uni’s medical expenses and will help give her the chance at a full recovery.

Kevin and I are forever grateful for the love and support we’ve received so far, and I know Uni will feel all of your positive thoughts and energy.
