Unite for Lucas

Our best friend Bec, her partner Shane and their beautiful children Lucas and Maci have been recently given some absolutely devastating news no parent should ever hear.

Their 13 year old son Lucas has a large high grade and extremely rare malignant sarcoma that cannot at this time be removed due to complications of the tumour. Medical professionals are having to seek help from overseas to try to learn more about exactly how to best approach this very hard to treat tumour and there are many questions still left for this family of what the future will hold moving forward for with what the best treatment for Lucas is going to look like.

Right now the plan is for Lucas to start 12-18months of broad spectrum chemotherapy followed by radiation.

On top of all this, the financial burden that will be on on Bec and Shane over this period will be significant due to medical costs and time off work while Lucas is staying in hospital for treatment every second week and will be very ill with treatment.

This beautiful family have already just been through a hard time with Shane also recently having had several major surgeries on his spine leaving him with ongoing health issues.

Anyone who knows Lucas knows that he has an absolute heart of gold, he is such a champ and that has been even more apparent in his bravery and humour he has shown already throughout these last couple of weeks.

We are asking that everyone try and give whatever they can to try and help to ease this extremely difficult time that this beautiful family is going through.
