We urgently need your help to get Oli specialised equipment to support with his rehabilitation.

Oli’s family and friends have recently received the devastating news that he has been diagnosed with an Acquired Brain Injury secondary to an Ependymoma Brain Tumour.

Oli was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2023 and found out he had a fourth ventricle brain tumour. After a trip to Ibiza in August he came home to news that the tumour had grown – leaving Oli with the difficult decision of whether to opt for a very high-risk surgery to remove the mass. He chose to go ahead with the operation & against all odds he pulled through.

Within a month Oli was back at the gym, back at work, back DJing (his true passion) and was planning his future.

Never one to complain or feel down on his luck, Oli took a course of intensive radiotherapy in his stride, attending Christies Cancer centre every day for 6 weeks. To mark the completion of this journey Oli booked himself in for a Spartan tattoo as he felt that the ordeal was over.

On 11th May 2024, Oli began to feel unwell with headaches, nausea and fatigue. He knew that something wasn’t right and sought help but was sadly turned away

Eventually, he was admitted to hospital on 22nd May after family begged for medical support and was then tragically found unresponsive on a ward on 23rd May. Oli then suffered a cardiac arrest.

After an emergency MRI, it was discovered that Oli had hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain – which had been ignored). During emergency surgery to drain the fluid, Oli went into cardiac arrest on the operating table. After pulling through this, he endured a further 3 high risk surgeries over the next 2 weeks.

Oli spent 6 weeks in an Intensive Care Unit, before moving to a high dependency ward, where he remains extremely unwell still. Oli is relying on a tracheostomy to breath and is being fed through a tube. He has been diagnosed with Locked In Syndrome and is only able to communicate via blinking.

A long road of unknowns lies ahead for Oli, but what we do know is that his determination knows no bounds. He will require specialist brain rehabilitation to give him the best possible chance of a recovery.

Any money that we raise will go towards Oli’s getting the best resources for his rehab – Let’s make this happen and give Oli this opportunity that he so deserves!
