20 exceptional, aspiring professional dancers, from 5 continents, will engage in a 2-week company experience in London, immersing themselves in the development of an original Contemporary Ballet, Black Beauty, from vision to fruition.

Please read on to see how YOU can support:

  • Angela, Emily, Enydia, Jayla, Kat, and Leslie from the USA mainland
  • Alexis, Adriana, Ariana, Ana and Anaelis from Puerto Rico
  • Laura from Abu Dhabi
  • Ashleigh from Australia
  • Nicole from Colombia
  • Livan from Cuba
  • Louise from France
  • Brianna from Gibraltar
  • Divieta from India
  • Asua from Nigeria.

These exciting young artists will receive mentorship from industry leaders who will help each dancer to hone their creative voice and bring clarity to their career aspirations. UWD aims to nurture dancers to feel empowered, inspired and capable of forging exciting careers, paving the way to becoming our industry's future change-makers and leaders. In order to ensure that socio-economic status is not a barrier for these dancers, we are fundraising to ensure that each of them can participate on full scholarship.

UWD is a female-led organisation, with artistic direction from Andrea Kramer (USA) and Anna Morgan (UK). Original music will be composed by Conrad Korsch.

UWD's mission is to nurture dancers from around the world who aspire for professional careers in Dance. Many of these dancers have had significant aspects of their training and early careers interrupted by the COVID pandemic, and we aim to provide them the opportunity of working in a company environment as a springboard for their early careers.

UWD aims to create a young company synonymous with modern values; where dancers of all racial backgrounds and body types are celebrated.

We believe there needs to be more voices and fewer barriers. We want to empower artists with their own thoughts, voices and opinions, not only regarding the choreographic creation but also the ethos and values of a project. We want to prove that outstanding work can be created in environments rooted in compassion, respect and inclusivity.

In order to make this possible, we aim to raise £62,000, which will pay for the creation and production of Black Beauty, as well as our company's lodging and living costs. We are grateful for every contribution that is made, no matter how big or small, which will bring us one step closer to developing this incredible opportunity for young dancers worldwide.

NB - No funds will be delivered or given to any of the dancers, and funds will solely be handled by Anna Morgan.
