Help Shawna Medical Procedure

Hi, My name is Claudette Walker and i'm launching a funding campaign on behalf of my close friend Shawna Martin-Nelson who lives in Jamaica and needs urgent surgery.

Shawna has been diagnosed with Club foot a birth defect that results in a permanent distortion of the foot and ankle,cause by constricted ligaments and tendons . This condition forces her to walk on the edge of her foot rather than its sole . Although diagnosed early in life ,unforeseen

circumstances led to the cancellation of her corrective surgery .

Throughout her teenage years, Shawna wore specialized footwear in an attempt to manage the condition,but unfortunately,it hasn't provided lasting solution.

Over the years, financial challenges prevented Shawna from seeking further medical assistance,causing her condition to worsen significantly.

It has resulted in severe pain, swelling and difficult walking,making wearing shoes impossible.

After giving birth in 2020, her condition deteriorated further with, constant pain, swelling,and difficulty walking.

In 2021, she and her and husband attempted to find an orthopedic specialist in their country, but their search was unsuccessful until 2022 when they found one.

Unfortunately, the recommended treatment, including a special shoe called a cam walker, initially provided some relief but later caused complications, including pain and infected blisters.

desperate for a solution, Shawna and her husband began seeking medical assistance overseas and learned that Cuba heal medical tourism inc.

Shawna is now seeking assistance to raise USD 20,000 to cover the surgery,her treatment,physiotherapy, hospitalization, and necessary diagnostic tests.

Her financial situation is challenging as health insurance does not cover the procedure,and lack the necessary .

living with the condition for the 30 years has taken a toll on Shawna, not only physically and financially, but also emotionally, and spiritually .

She has been unable to work and attend church regularly, and her ability to engage in activities with her son has been limited.

Despite the pain, she remains steadfast in her faith and is grateful for the support of her husband, friends, family , co-workers and church family.

Shawna is hopeful that the surgery will significantly improve her quality of life, allowing

her to function better at home, in church, and at work.

The procedure would alleviate her pain and swelling, improve her ability to walk, and enable her to wear comfortable shoes-improving both her well being and bringing joy to her family.
