This Gofund Me page is ran by Jamal “JJ” Henry’s mother, Cherylle Henry. We are both from Atlanta, Georgia and my son had a prestigious well paying job as a restaurant store manager when he was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in 2023. We had to uproot our life last year and move to Virginia to be close to family after his diagnosis. Due to scheduling conflicts and treatment, JJ ultimately had to step down from his position to take a lighter workload that would support his condition. In March 2024, JJ underwent surgery for removal but due to an uphill battle of recovery, JJ has been airlifted back to the hospital three times since surgery date, making his return to work strained. This has unfortunately put a heavy burden on our living expenses and emergency funds have run bare. We are asking for assistance for basic living accommodations so we do not end up in a crisis situation. Rent, utilities, car payments, and even phone payments have been hard to keep up with and we are threatened with cut-off dates and removals.
