Universal Chip Scanners

Update 21:04 PM 6/14/23
Resident Pete Cooper has generously offered to purchase and donate another scanner for Honey Brook Boro PD! With that commitment, we have reached our goal!
Update-it’s been suggested we keep going so we can provide two scanners to the department so each patrol vehicle will be equipped with a scanner! I’ve updated the goal to $800 - let’s do it!
My name is Deb Klinger. My son, Robert Jr, is the full time police officer at the Honey Brook Borough Police Department.
With the numerous posts about found/lost pets on FB Community pages, I asked my son if it it would be useful if the department had a universal chip scanner. His answer was a resounding YES! During business hours they use the Honey Brook Vet to scan for chips, but at the other times they have to ask finders to keep the animal until the owners are found or take it to the SPCA. If the finders aren’t willing to hold the animal, sometimes it has to be released because Honey Brook Borough does not have a contract with the SPCA to handle lost animals.
I will gladly keep an animal crated in my home for up to 24 hours to help HBBPD to help find the owner.
Please consider a donation to this worthy cause to help pets find their way home.
