UNSW Raiders Gridiron 40th Anniversary Documentary
Donation protected
My name is Tommy Larkin. I am film maker in Sydney. I have been following and playing Gridiron in Australia since 1999. I have spent most of my time at my current club the UNSW Raiders. In 2023 will mark 40 years of the Raiders being not only the oldest club in Australian Gridiron but one of the remaining foundation clubs in NSW and Australia.
I’m looking to do shoot a documentary about the club throughout 2023 to highlight our history as a club in Australia. And being that there is so much history for this club with it's old members, I would love to interview past players, coaches, officals, cheerleaders etc to present a 40th anniversary documentary for the club and have it screened in a cinema before our 40th season kicks off for the year.
For me I have spent 23 years in the sport and most of it has been with the Raider family. Some of my best memories are being a Raider. And I would love to give something back to the club. I want to be able to share what a great club this is and why we are still around.
Would love to hear stories from the early days with no gear, the crazy after game stories, how key people like Fred Burson helped the club in the early days and would get us motivated for a win or how we all are just family.
What this funds would go to is listed below:
- Camera Hire
- Lighting Hire
- Sound Equipment
- Archive footage retrival
- Travel (car hre, possible flights interstate)
- Post Production (Editing, Colour Grading, Sound Design and final Distribution)
i am looking to release an interview a week leading up to the 2023 regular season and also to showcase at the 40th anniversary dinner as well. with the doco then finally being released and shown at a theatre for viewing for the club and then sent off to festivals.
