UP NEXT Mini-Series
Donation protected
UP NEXT is an anthology mini-series exploring the queer karaoke scene in Andersonville,
Chicago, and several journeys that end up at the same karaoke bar.
This mini-series aims to start production in mid-July, and we need to raise more than
Five Thousand dollars to make that happen!
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

to bring this vision to life in a timely yet safe manner.

THE CREATORS
Katy Murphy ( Writer / Director )
Katy Murphy is a Connecticut-born, Northwestern-educated, now Chicago-based actor, writer, director, and voiceover artist. A proud ensemble member of Candle House Collective, an immersive theatre company specializing in remote interactive experiences, her recent credits include: I CUT MYSELF SHAVING AND IT BLED SO MUCH, NEXT TIME, LOVERS ANONYMOUS, and LEO SEASON. She is represented by BMG for on-camera and Grossman & Jack for voiceover work - you may recognize her in a few upcoming spots… After years of seeking refuge in the cozy karaoke corners of Clark street, she is full of gratitude for the opportunity to share those spaces with you! When she’s not writing/acting/creating you can usually find her on the mic at Pure Barre Lincoln Square or a karaoke dive.
Grant Kennedy Lewis ( Writer )
Originally from Long Beach, California, Grant Kennedy Lewis moved to Chicago to pursue acting at Northwestern University, where he earned a degree in Theatre and a minor in Linguistics. After graduating, Grant decided to stay in Chicago, where he was able to begin performing professionally in both the theatre and on-camera worlds. He has made television appearances on CHICAGO MED (NBC) and THE CHI (Showtime) as well as other on-camera appearances in MOVER’S ULTIMATE (feature) and HOW TO L0VE (web series). Grant has also had the pleasure of working with Chicago theatres such as Lifeline, Windy City Playhouse, Compass Theatre, and Definition Theatre. He is currently represented by Gray Talent Group. When not acting, Grant spends his time tutoring, playing soccer, and crushing his friends in all things board games. And in the spirit of UP NEXT, his go-to karaoke song is Accidentally in Love by The Counting Crows.
