It has meant all the difference between having or not having a home for the kids and me. Every penny of your donations has gone to food, rent, utilities, and gas. While my beautiful Sunya and Sammy know that I'm very ill, thanks to you they have been saved so far from the super scary knowledge that we're living on the brink.
As of today, I have funds to pay rent this month but no bills. I'm awake every night worrying, trying day and night to figure out some way to keep my family fed and housed. It's terrifying to be too sick to get work and to not know how I can feed my kids. I dream about the privilege of working again. And here I am, asking again from the bottom of my heart, for financial help so I can get to that point.
The relapse of cancer left me incapacitated for weeks, which resulted in the loss of my job. I had been firmly on the road to full self sufficiency! During this phase of my journey the chemo is now wreaking its havoc on my depleted system. Six quarts of fluid have just been drained from my abdomen and left lung, an ongoing side effect of the cancer. The pain and fatigue of the illness and its chemo regimen have left me debilitated and often unable to perform simple tasks. My doctor told me it's foolish for me to attempt to get work right now, that it would not only severely undermine healing at this crux point, but she also says I simply couldn't sustain work.
The good news is that the tumor markers are going down! There is a light somewhere at the end of this tunnel! I hold the news with great hope and determination that I will rise again, get work again, and be able to care fully for my kids again!
In the meantime, I ask of you, I beg of you, to help me through this dark night of my body and soul. Please help fund me to get through the next few months so my health can be present enough to work for my family's sustenance. To those of you who have helped me before, oh thank you thank you thank you! And if there is any thing at all you can give again, know that it will be received with the deepest gratitude. Please, please share this plea with your family and friends.
Know also, dear ones, I will pay and give and love forward everything, absolutely everything, that you do and have done for me. For the rest of my long, yes it will be loooong, life!
